The Benefits of Exercise During Pregnancy »

Exercise during pregnancy provides tremendous benefits for both mother and baby. Among the many physical and emotional benefits associated with participation in a fitness program are improved circulation and posture, increased energy levels, and reduced back pain and pelvic and rectal pressure. Some of the common pregnancy-related problems that often prevent women from engaging in a workout program include excessive weight gain, swelling of hands and feet, leg cramps, insomnia, fatigue and constipation. Participating in a well-designed fitness program can relieve the burden of these symptoms!

Physical conditioning during pregnancy can also lead to quicker recovery from labor and facilitate post-partum weight loss. Most importantly, the effort that you put into taking care of your body will make you feel strong, accomplished, healthy and beautiful. These feelings together provide emotional resiliency, an important quality for those who suffer or potentially suffer from maternal depression. Tell yourself you deserve it!

A Letter to Moms and Moms-to-Be »

Dear Moms and Moms-to-Be,

An important part of taking care of your baby during this crucial time is taking care of yourself. The demands of pregnancy and labor can certainly take a toll on your strength, energy level, and figure! Has your doctor recommended exercise, but failed to give you specific guidelines to help you begin a workout program? Have you thought about beginning a fitness program, but would like to know more about how to do so safely and effectively?

As the CEO of Aveo Fitness, and as a young woman looking forward to a healthy family and healthy pregnancies in the future, creating the AveoMoms branch of Aveo Fitness was a goal from the company's founding. Besides fat loss and sports conditioning, as a trainer I specialize in pre- and post-natal fitness and health. I am currently pursuing a master's degree in Maternal and Child Health and have an in-depth understanding of a woman's needs both during and after pregnancy. The services I offer through my company include personal and small group personal training, customized online strength training programs and supportive nutritional counseling.

I can help you develop and sustain strength, recover more quickly after pregnancy, and regain confidence in your body and self-image. If you would like to find out more about my AveoMOMS services or have any questions about maternal fitness, please feel free to contact me.

Congratulations on the creation of your beautiful family. I look forward to helping you nurture yourself, while you nurture your baby!

Be well,
